The police have a duty to enforce the law. Ms Ruth Turner was arrested at her home at approximately 6.30am. The reason for the time and place of arrest is to enable the police officers present to carry out a search of her property. They could have waited until she had arrived at her place of work but this would have meant not being able to search her house. Turner was arrested but not charged. It is the duty of the courts to decide whether a person is innocent or guilty of a crime and not the police. The police were convinced/assured, that Turner had no part the 'cash for coronets' scandal, following their enquiries, so she was released.
Everyone in UK must obey the law of the land and no matter who they are or what their role is, they must accept that when a crime has been committed, they could be arrested if they are thought to be part of the group responsible for the crime. The UK.gov have committed a crime in selling peerages for cash to support the Labour Party. All of this must be brought out into the public arena. Not only must justice be done, it must be seen to be done.

To arrest a member of the government at 6am seems a little over the top, after all she is not your average criminal, who's likely to runner is she. But then the law should be equal throughout all of society, but its not and never will be, for instance if the trail leads back to Tony Blair, are the police going knocking at no 10 at that time of the day ?

Government Ministers and their advisers are not above the law and if the General Public can be awakened before 6 am by the police and social services than so can Tony's team. I have no sympathy for any of them as they are just scroungers who vote themselves higher and higher pay while keeping the public down.

I think the sleazy Labour ministers do protest too much. Unless we have an insight to police intelligence we cannot know why they called at that time. Lots of arrests are made before dawn. If it gets Blair put away they can call on his cronies anytime.
