saying, "go to the doctor"? how does that help the person who is asking the question. if they wanted to go to a doctor, then im sure that they would at least be on the phone with them. but some people just ask questions to see if anyone is or has dealt with it before and if they could just get some friendly advice and help them not worry as much. wow. i just had to get that off my chest....

i didn't ask for anyone else's advice. i just had to get that off my chest, because it would really bother me.

Because the people who answer that way know that they aren't qualified to give medical advise (especially sight unseen), and telling them to go to the doctor is then the correct and responsible response to give them.

Edit: If you don't want people to answer your questions, then don't post them. This isn't a sounding board. Read the community guidelines or get reported.

I hear you, but as someone who worked in a medical profession, some of the questions really should be answered with "see a doctor." Some things sound really scary, need immediate attention, or might inspire someone to give off-the-wall diagnoses...when something serious is happening and will only get worse with an herbal treatment only. So where some "medical" questions are fine to answer, others shouldn't be touched with a ten foot pole.

I think for the points but the advice can be to simply go to the doc I try not to answer anything unless I know at least a little bit about it but I'm not really worried about points I do not even answer questions that have the same answer I would suggest it is just dumb!!

You have freedom of thought, freedom of association, and self determination. Thus you answer your own question and provide more food for thought about: "why", is even given serious allocation of resources for an or many conflicting answers. Since we may not every know "truth" all answers will be in conflict and thus no solution. No Answer will have been provided. An absolutely truthful, useful, answer may never be: knowable or/and communicated. Not even this answer will be deemed "absolutely true, correct, best possible" by 100% of readers.
Thus we always question to: (a) self entertain as (2) self amusement from others attempts and care.

well why are they so dumb to come here and ask instead of going to the dr. thats like someone coming here and saying well my baby has blood in their stool and has a 104 fever, should I go to the dr. I would never trust strangers to give me advice, i would be going to a dr

I agree. I also hate it when people make others feel stupid for asking a question. If someone doesn't like a question, than they should just skip it as they do not help when they are being rude. I am glade I am not the only one with a problem with this.

maybe the people dont know if it serious enough to merit going to the doctor and these people are trying to tell them that they NEED to go to the dr. just trying to help out.
