Let's see. First of all must have been the wheel. Invented millions of years ago, and it's still in use. Pretty good thing.
Oh, and fire. I like staying warm. It's still a fire inside my furnace that heats the air. Lovely thing. Keeps me warm and cooked food for a lot of years. Still does, at some picnics.
