Sort of...

Einstein was confused about the nature of the ether and changed his mind about it several times in his career, although didn't ever say it didn't exist, he just wasn't clear what he thought it was. He leaned towards it being an absolute reference of space-time, and said that this is what Newton thought too.

T&B's Aether Physics Model (APM) is a similar idea, whereby they try to derive a completely new model of physics from their concept of the ether, which they take to be a third component of the universe they call "environment" along with forces and matter.

Unfortunately, they step beyond simply proposing their theories and encouraging experiments to prove or disprove them, and instead go on to say that the new force their theory postulates is actually God, and that emotions are independent of matter and are therefore not limited by space and time, and the the aether can give proof to psychic and paranormal behaviour.

This letter from one of the founders, David Thomson, to another speaker at a recent conference, does sound like the ravings of a crackpot to me, I'm afraid...
