~Their honesty, vulnerability, and humor. It doesn't even matter so much if it's the good guy/gal or the bad guy/gal. As long as they are honest about "their situation" and sincere about "their feelings/actions" then I'm compelled to care about them. I want them to be as human, honest, humble, strong, and funny as apossible. That's why I like Julia Robert, and Reese Witherspoon, and Hugh Grant. And, Kathy Bates.

you have to feel as if the character could be a real person. People are drawn to a well developed character, someone they can relate to.
