Find Each of the following conditional probabilities:
a. the card is a heart, given that it is black.
b. the card is black, given that it is a heart.
c. the card is an ace, given that it is black.
d. the card is a queen, given that it is a face card.

a. If the card is black, it can't possibly be a heart, so the probability is zero.

b. If the card is a heart, then it can't be black so the probability is
zero.

c. If card is black, then it can either be any one of the thirteen
number or face cards, so the probability is 1/13.

d. If the card is a face card, it can be any one the three face cards, so the probability is 1/3.

there are 4 ace cards in a deck of cards probabilty of getting an ace is = 4/52 there are 13 cards in a deck which are clubs but u want the probability of the card not being a club no of cards which is not a club is= 52-13 = 39 probability of the card not being a club=39/52 combining the above two we get that........ the probability of the card being an ace or not a club is = 4/52 + 39/52 -1/52 i am doing -1/52 as there is an ace card which is a club and u dont want to calculate the probability for it twice the final answer is= 42/52

diamands and hearts are red
spades and clubs are black
4 suits
A,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,J,Q,K = SUIT


a> There are 0 cards that have the suit of hearts an are black
b> There are 0 cards that are black, that is in the suit of hearts
c> There are 26 black card, 2 are aces 2 in 26 or 1 in 13
d> There are 3 face cards per suit and 4 suits = 12 oof these, there are 4 queens... 4/12 or 1/3

a) 0 (hearts are always red)
b) 0 (hearts are always red)
c) 2/26 = 1/13 (2 Aces in 26 black cards)
d) 4/12 = 1/3 (4queens in 12 face cards)

You made me feel retarded. What??? This makes no sence....

There arent any black hearts. so....for 'c' there are 2 black aces in the deck and all queens are face cards.

So I still dont get it.
