According to:

http://www.geocities.com/lflank/scorpionanatomy.html

"Scorpions have a number of eyes, although, being largely nocturnal, their vision is not very good and they depend heavily on their sensory hairs for much of their information. A pair of large median eyes are located at the top of the carapace. These consist of two large compound eyes that have been broken up into a number of smaller groups, each with its own lens.

A number of smaller eyes, known as lateral ocelli, are also found at the corners of the carapace. The number of pairs varies from species to species, but ranges from two to five. The lateral ocelli are not as visually acute as the median eyes, and are believed to be the degenerate remains of more complex ancestral eyes.

All scorpions are nocturnal and do not need good vision. They depend on their sensory hairs for most of their information about their surroundings. "
