I'm a Malaysian & have lived in England for 8 years during the 80s. One thing I can say is that the British are a reserved lot. Once I was in a tube train & was stuck in a tunnel for a good half hour. The carriage was full of people but there was no conversation. They were either reading or just sitting still keeping to themselves. You could hear a pin drop.
Having said that, once you get to know them however, they will open up to you. There's nothing more enjoyable conversing with your English pals over a pint in a pub. It's a pastime which I still miss today. The other thing is their accents. Depending on where they came from, the best accent (& the easiest to understand) are those from London & the South. The north like Liverpudlians are difficult to understand unless they slowed it down & needless to say, I'm at a total loss talking to the Scottish.

I love Brits. I have had a facsination with all things British since I was 4. When I was single, if a guy had a British accent (not Cockney) it would automatically up his hottness factor by 2 points! Come on, just look at Melvin the Retarded Emu!

I love their humor and their accents. Since I've only met British people in passing and very casually, I can't really say more than that.

They are people. You can't throw them in a group and say they are all nice, or they all talk funny, or they all have bad teeth. They are just people, no better, no worse than anyone else.

Love them. The stiff upper lip thing can be annoying at times, but I love their wry sense of humor.
