I had fun indoors with my kids when they were small with a few beachballs, a nylon collapsible tunnel (ours was from Gymboree), and castles/forts made from big boxes, laundry baskets, blankets, and anything else that came up.

We baked a lot, played playdough, made our own playdough (the Kids Koncoctions cookbook has great recipes), got messy and had a bath.

Our town had an indoor playground (a private business), we played at friends houses (Mom's Club acquaintances), and at least once a day we dressed up, went outside, played, got cold, and came in for hot chocolate and a cuddle under a blanket.

Try to do an exercise tape. My kids tried to do them, too, and whenever there was "floorwork", they were all over me. It is extra exercise to do the work with one or two little ones sitting on you. Extra laughs.

One and two year olds learn by watching and doing. It doesn't have to be letters and numbers. They learn just by playing.

I also stay contained in the course of nowhere, although fortuitously my birthday is contained in the summer season. Is there a skating rink everywhere close to you? outdoors rinks are maximum acceptable, on the grounds that they are regularly free. and also you'll convey a radio and hook an iPod up! in the adventure that your birthday is really close to to Christmas, you would possibly want to all construct and decorate gingerbread homes. that is a chilled thanks to pig out on icing and attempt to create some thing that stands up. Gingerbread abode kits are lower priced to purchase, and also you actually in user-friendly words want one to make various homes, in case you purchase the sweet and make the gingerbread. Hmm. I had a glow contained in the darkish party once, notwithstanding it did not coach too tremendous because the position I stay, the solar would not set till about 11.00 contained in the summer season. yet because the party is in December, it will be spectacular and darkish, ideal for a glow contained in the darkish component. you would possibly want to all convey t-shirts and fabrics paint, and performance a t-blouse adorning party. in case you purchase black light fixtures, each and every thing will glow, even with if the paint isn't glow contained in the darkish! Oh hi. you should completely bypass sledding. that's the most thrilling and painful iciness sport, in my opinion. Haha, ideal for a birthday party! Or if the snow is ideal, construct snowmen and igloos. embody the poor-ish climate! And once you're drained of it, bypass interior and heat up and also you would possibly want to do some thing like the gingerbread homes or play spin-the-(nail-polish)bottle. My acquaintances and that i made that sport up a lengthy time period in the past. that is a chilled twist on reality-or-dare. placed a minimum of ten diverse nail polishes in a circle, and use some thing for the spinner, like yet another nail polish. Whichever you land on, you paint one nail with that coloration. If the nail polish is a basic coloration, you tell a reality, or perhaps if that is darkish, you should do a dare. i'm hoping you've an truly good party, no count number what you do. chuffed early birthday!

My daughter has a 14 month old and she's been reading to him since he was born (even before)! So he loves his books and looks through them a lot. They have great playtime togethet. She has a lot of learning games - flash cards, puzzles, shape sorter balls, she also is on the floor with him 1to1 to play with him, he loves just having mommy play with him and show great interest in his toys. It has taught him how to play with his toys by himself. 1 on 1 playtime with a child of most any age is what the child likes best. Make up games, puppets, through the ball in the buckets - so many fun things to do with little ones!

Reading to kids is great fun. Try getting books with lots of pictures they can look at, and an interesting enough story for you to read. Reading to young children helps build their communication skills and improves their vocabulary.
Another fun thing to do is to put on some music with a good beat and do a lot of dancing, which helps build co-ordination skills.
