To me, a true friend is there for you 24/7. They listen to you and know when to say something and know when not to. They have your back and support you, and if they don't believe what you're doing is right, they talk to you about it in a nice way. They don't talk behind your back unless it's to say good things about you. They never lie to you, value your trust, and respect you. They remember your birthday.
They also keep in contact with you, even if it's just a 5-minute conversation just to say "hi, how are you?" They care about you and they show it - so there's no need to ask them if they do.
Wish I could find someone that fits this bill because I'm not having much luck lately.

to me a true friendship is when u can talk 2 someone about anything & everything. me & my mom have a true friendship. one of my ex-boyfriends & i have a true friendship. and i just started another one on New Year's Eve w/my friend's friend from the Army. He's really cute, too. lol.

true friendship is just explaintory it simply means a friendship that has nothing to do with jeolousy, no secrets and most of all a true freindship is one that is unconditional and the only place you can get that is with JESUS CHRIST human might deceive you but HR never DOES GOOD LUCK hope i answered your question and have a nice day

Someone who is there for you when everyone else has left.
That's a true friend and I am proud to say, I have a few like that.
They have already proven themselves.
I try very hard to be that kind of friend as well.

a true friend is some one you can go to for any thing and some one that wont tell any one what you say trust me i learned that the hard way so be your self and be a friend and dont cross some one ok good luck

Let me think... someone who would be there whenever I needed to talk or just hang out, who is willing to step outside their comfort zone. Also, they will push me to try new things. I have a few true friends. :D
