I took several tests and got both negatives and positives. What gives? See FAQ 9 above; there are many variables-- concentration of urine, sensitivity of the test. Since true false positives are pretty rare, if you get at least one positive HPT, you are probably pregnant. Wait a couple of days and test again or try another brand if you are suspect. If you suspect you have a true false positive (meaning you did not conceive and still got a positive

Why don't you go to the health department and see if you are or aren't. If your not i would get on birth control if i were you if your not wanting a kid right now.

With both of my pregnancies, I knew I was pregnant long before the tests were able to give a clear indication as such. I'd have such a faint 2nd line I began having doubts. Was I just seeing the line in the plastic, or was it REALLY a faint line from the coloring agent? Fast forward 6 more home tests and four days and FINALLY, the absolute 100% definitive 2nd line APPEARED....only to further confound me when I took another two tests for confirmation, neither of which indicated I was pregnant at all. Hay, carumba!
Don't put yourself through the waste of time, money and energy when you can go to your doctor, get your blood drawn and know EXACTLY whether you are or not.
Now why didn't I think of that??? =) Oh yeah, that's right, I was too impatient and didn't want to wait two days, (1 for the appt and one more for the test result) to find out. Instead I waited 84. Classic!
Good luck to you, I hope everything turns out the way you'd like for it to.

It means you need to go see a doctor and find out for sure, have some blood work done.
Especially if you are on birth control, continuing to take the pills could harm the child if taken too long, but if you stop, then you'll get pregnant for sure.
If you're not insured, then, I don't really care....We're talking about the healthy development of your son/daughter here, don't let a busy schedule or lack of funds now let you increase the risk of miscarriage or birth defect.
Healthy babies and pregnancies with regular checkups are much much less expensive than ones where something goes wrong, plus, if the child is born disabled, you'll feel awful guilty.
Go make that appt right now girl!

i dont like them urine tests...they are so unreliable!!!One time when i was a teen my mom thought i was sexually active so she took me to take a test and it came out positive but i was a virgin ha/ha(yeah i got whooped for no reason)Anyways maybe you should make a dr's appt. and ask for a blood pregnancy test.Theyll just fraw some blood and that to me is the most accurate test other then the obvious ultrasound and actually seeing the baby.....

You can go to any dr and get a blood test without them knowing. The public health clinic definalty will not tell them. Talk to your school nurse, she should beable to give you the name of someone to contact at the clinic. But you definatly need to get a blood test.

You need to have a HCG blood pregnancy test done. That's the most accurate test besides ultrasound. Keep us posted.

Go to your OB/GYN and get a blood test done. If you turns out that you are not they can see if there is anything wrong.
Good Luck.
