Evacuation - Only allow ppl to leave - all roads heading to exits.
Evacuation - Trains, Buses, Car-pooling available at schools, churches, movie theaters.
Evacuation - Special planning for the sick & elderly.
Evacuation - Goal to have 85% City evacuated.
Shelters within city (multiple) w/ Military protection, generators, additional sanitation facilities.
Shelters outside city (multiple). Set up common bases for ppl to register and meet at. Have database ready for tracking.
Shelters outside city for animals ... again with database.

Military protection- Many didn’t leave ‘cas fear of looting. There wasn’t any “National Guard” out there.

Hind sight is always 20/20 isn’t it? Even with the knowledge we got from Katrina … wow, there’s just so much more we can do to improve.

EVACUATE!!!!!!. Category 5 is utter destruction. Why would you, for any reason, even consider not leaving. Get as many valuables as you can and drive as far away as possible. Stay with family, friends, or a motel 6. Direct people to different highways depending on what part of town they in, so as not to overcrowd the roads. Get the local pd, state police and the national guard and get people out! If you have three days warning and you still get caught in the storm, whatever fate befalls you is of your own design.

Make an evacuation order.

Order buses and other forms of transportation for those unable to evacuate on their own.

Order residents of nursing homes and hospitals to evacuate, using ambulances and other specialized fleet to assist them in finding similar accommodations in a city of safety.

The people who dealt with Hurricane Katrina were high on drugs.

all of us understand for a fact that the mayor of recent Orleans had 2,000 college buses at his disposal that he could desire to of used to get his citizens out of harms way. rather, all he did in generic liberal vogue is whined approximately how sluggish the GOP grow to be responding to his request. And in generic liberal vogue, the liberals themselves have performed the three monkeys in this very undertaking. on no account conserving the mayor in charge for what he could have completed. and that's merely the information!
