If it lifts your spirit and you can daydream to it, then it's all rock & roll to me. :-)

Classical is the thinking man's music. The way a composer writes, is often similar to the way a good story teller would write.
Other than E.L.P or E.L.O., few have combined Rock and Classical. Gregorian Chants are slower, but put the voices back in the foreground of the music. These chants have been adapted to modern music by such artists as The Yardbirds and Enigma. Lastly, Hard Rock and/or Punk has developed in many ways since 1977.
All three can evoke emotions ranging from tranquil introspection, to humble serenity, to off-the-wall excitement. Do you listen to all three as well?

I've listened to all three. I enjoy classical music when I want to think. I indulge in rock music when I need a physical and emotional charge of energy. I listen to Gregorian chants to put myself in touch with God and the universe

Nice question!
Hmm..lets see...classical, which I love evokes a feeling of suspended time. For me, I listen to sounds, sometimes eerie, sometimes beautiful, always seeming to be outside of time.
Gregorian Chant, which I also listen to, a lot, gives me a sense of the passage of time. It makes me think of things holy...no, not like religion, but like the mythic quest for the grail.
Hard Rock I listen to, punk I don't, so I'll tackle the rock. It makes me feel charged...alive in the moment as though I was electrified. It makes me want to, oh, spin until I fall and can no longer move....

Clasical lifts my spirits, particularly Baroque, and demonstrates the elevation of man.
Gregorian chant clears my head of all distraction. I studied to Gregorian chant regularly in HS and college.
Hard Rock gets me jacked. Punk gets me a little irritated.

Classical music relaxes me, relieves my tensions and so on. Gregorian music or chant, remind me of the monastery and church, we don't hear it much anymore. As for that other stuff, it is noise to me, stressful, makes me feel on edge, want to kill something, not to mention the fact that it deafens me.
