We have custody of my "step"sons.I have adopted them as their mother did not want parental rights or responsibilities (like seeing them or paying support)-her rights were terminated by the court. She wants to move away from her roommate and she found out she can get subsidised housing. The 2 bedroom has the shortest waiting list, but she would have to have my "step" sons living with her. She doesn't WANT custody-she just wants me to fax them their info and basically lie and say they are living with her. She asked me to fax their Social security cards and their Birth Certificates to the lady at the office. How do I tell her "no"? I am not going to do it. I am not going to lie when she has done nothing but hurt them, not to mention some people really need that housing while she goes on vacations every week (yep!) but won't pay a penny to help support the kids-she just wants to USE them.I don't like that, but I also don't want to stir up drama by making her mad, since she can make life HELL

Just tell her NO WAY.

She sounds like a real work of art there.

PS- she's asking you to help commit fraud, I wouldn't go there if I were you.

Do NOT lie for her!! Send a fax to the person she needs you to but NOT her version of the story . Explain in the fax what she is up to and show court documents from her losing parental rights and the adoption papers you signed.
Defrauding the government is a crime and if you falsify documents you could be sharing a cell with her.
That would be Hell!

It doesn't matter if can make life HELL! You just need to tell her no flat out. What's she's doing is wrong on plenty of levels however if you were to help YOU could wind up getting into a lot of legal troubles. Just tell her no, and if she keeps harrassing you I would recommend bringing in some legal help of your own.

Tell her no, that you will not exploit the children for her convenience. Tell her the is an adult, so she should conduct herself that way; figure out to handle her situation without involving you or the children.

My husband and I had custody of his daughter, and I tell you, it is very difficult to deal with a "dead beat mom". Good luck to you and many blessings.

Tell her hell no you're not going to do that and don't ever ask you something like that again because if she does, she will really make you mad and you will raise hell.

You tell your husband to deal with her. and you report her to the housing authority, you can make her life a living hell too. there is nothing she can do to you.
