When I was pregnant with my son his heartrate was different everytime, sometimes faster than others, this is not an accurate way to predict the sex of your baby so I would hold off on the pink until you have your ultrasound. Good Luck!

I am 17 weeks and I have only heard my babies heartbeat twice at twelve weeks and at sixteen I saw it at eight on the u/s how do you get an appt just for the heartbeat ? I will get to take a peek at my next appt n-e way I hope we see the sex!! The doc did not tell me the rate of the beat it was similar to a galloping horse this is my 2nd preg I remember with my first going in for braxton hicks and they put me on a monitor that is the only time I remember finding out the bpm. I am not going to rely on the amount of beats I did not know what my son was until he was born and it is not that bad ( he was breech) !!

the only way is to wait until you are around 20 weeks and have an ultrasound done, and ask the technician if they can tell you what it is. the heartbeat theory or old wives tale is so not true with all cases. if it was then i wouldn't be having a boy, and it was very clear in the ultrasound that he was a boy, so you can't always go by just that.

That heartrate is actually not fast at all for 6 weeks. And, the heartrate does not determine sex.

for a fetus, my doctor told me normal heartrate is anywhere between 125 and 145. as for whose heartrates are faster, i was told boys were faster and everyone i know that had boys had quick heartrates. but you can't always go by things like that.

actually it sounds a little slow to me - every time my baby's heart rates went below 140's they would hitch me up to non stress test monitors. you really cant go by heartbeats to determine the sex of the baby - the drs swore my sister was going to be a boy from her heartrate - guess she fooled them. congrats on the baby and good luck - i hope you have a girl

Unfortunatly it doesnt work that way... I had 2 boys and one had a higher heartbeat and the other a lower... i even asked my doctor... and the heartbeat has nothing to do with the gender!!!

i wouldnt use that theory as a legitement one. my mother in-law thought that way about the heart beats and it was the total opposite of what she thought cuz it worked for one pregnancy but not the other one..sorry bout that.

Heart rate does not matter, it is an old wives tale.
