First of all before you speak up,you need to know for sure whether you are or not because you'll only be embarrased if you realise later that this is not the case. If after that you are sure, then the best way to go about it would be to sit them down and just be open and honest with them. It's not an easy thing to tell the people you care about but if they care about you, then yes it maybe a bit of a shock, but they will understand and they'll just want you to be happy. At the end of the day you'll still be the same person you were before you told them and that'll never change. I hope this helps, good luck and best wishes

It's sometimes hard to tell people you care about because your afraid of how they will react. I'm not out to my family or all of my friend, but maybe I can help. With my friends, I saw where they stood on the topic and once I felt no negatives feelings toward the LGBT community, I told them. One site that might help you come out and help answer questions your friends and family may have is http://www.hrc.org/Content/NavigationMenu/Coming_Out/Get_Informed4/Coming_Out3/Index.htm

I hope this helps and good luck.

id wait until you are sure 100% that you are gay and then sit them down after a good dinner and tell them straight leave them alone for a while as they will need time to deal with this dont take what they say at first too much to heart as it will be a shock to them

Oh, my God, don't do this. Look, I don't know how old you are, but its really, really common for a young person to be confused. There are alot of changes going on in the body, and in the mind - please don't upset your family, and ruin your friendships unless you are an older person who has already experienced the world, and you know you are very grounded person - then if you still feel this way, you could even go to a councelor for this and talk it out so that you are absolutely sure theres something up. Don't be hasty, please. You have your whole lifetime to decide this, so take your time and be sure, okay?

Sometimes knowing why you are gay can help! I do not know if your parents are university educated...but if anyone of them is, then read these papers and it will make you feel better and know what to explain to them if they start wandering what went wrong!

when my brother decided to tell us he was gay he went out, got really drunk, came home at about 12:30, woke us up and said I'm home and by the way I'm gay.
all we could do was laugh coz what he hadn't know was we had worked it out for ourselves years before but didn't want to ask in case we were wrong.
good luck mate.

First of all, you need to be sure. Then when you are, you need to be as open and honest as possible. Regardless of how your family reacts to this news you will feel better for being honest.
