im looking for heartfelt becuse i like this guy. but i dont want to come off to strong. i know he like to smoke cigars on occasion so i was thinking a zipo with something inscribed. but what would i have inscribed? and thats just an idea not a definate.
any help or suggestions would be great:)

For someone you hardly know? I wouldn't get the zippo, that's for like a good friend. If you like this guy, get him something kind of interesting and heartfelt.

For someone I was just getting to know...I would simply buy a card...write a little note inside. Not too much of a gift...but just enough to show interest!

Invite him over or go out for a meal and go to a movie. That would be a nice birthday thought. It would give you a little time to get to know him.

A zippo Is a good idea. You can have his name inscribed. You could also ask him out to dinner as your part of your birthday present.

A nice card and a gift card to Gap or Lowes, depending on whether he's yuppy or crafty.
I'd just sign my name to the card, and the gift card would be $25 or less.

i wouldnt do the zippo. its too personal. just get him a card or something small like that. if you get a card DONT write anything in it. like you said you dont wanna come off too strong.
