it comes down to the combo of detergent/fab softener. if you have hard or sulfur water- you'll need to use baking soda based detergent. arm and hammer has a nice smelling one, use dryer sheet and fabric softener. also the flowery you get with your fragrance the worse it can be with harder types of water. stick to original scents and make sure you do NOT leave your wet clothes in the washer, throw in dryer asap. good luck.

Downy liquid fabric softener in lavendar and vanilla. You can also get tide scented the same.My clothes always smell great. Also youcan dampen a cloth and put some of the fab. softener on it and toss into the dryer with your clothes.

hey there, try using a cup and a half of your favorite gain scent, powder, then use a really great smelling liquid fabric softener, about 2 capfuls even if it says 1. then place about 4-8 softener sheets into the dryer when you do dry them...and i bet you your clothes will smell SSSOOOOOOOOOO good.

Not sure if the scent doesn't last or the detergent doesn't get your clothes clean.
I soak heavily soiled clothes overnight in gain - works fine.

I used to put a bit of liquid (diluted) perfume - a favorite scent in the rinse cycle for my bed linens so they would have that scent. I'm sure it would work on any clothing. Just make sure to dilute it vs. spraying or pouring it directly on the clothes.
