How do you Know if Someone is the Right Actor?

I am filming a movie for a contest and have 10 days (from 1/20/06) to get the right actor for someone reporting at a newsdesk. How can I tell who the right actor for the part is. Give some personality traits that someone might have or something like that.

Personality has nothing to do with it. You need a face and a voice. Face should be square jawed, ruggedly hansom with a deep, resonating voice.

Hmmm...if you're the director, then you really need to answer this one for yourself. You must go into the audition process with something in mind, and then challenge the actors you see to deliver it.
