I have a hard floor surface in my entire home. I clean my floors every day with a dust mop (first I spray Pledge on the dust mop) and I use a wet mop in the kitchen and living area every single day. We don't wear our shoes in the home either, but still it seems to get dirty. So no matter how much you clean it will always seem dirty and dusty, at least to an extent. Even after I clean. I try not to worry about it so much. But, it sounds like you're doing the best you can, yet still dust witch comes from outside and the shedding of your skin cells will always find it's way inside. I just thank God I don't have carpet b/c I would never ever really get it clean.

1) remove as much of the furniture as possible from the room(s) with laminate flooring; 2) vacuum/sweep/swifter all the dust and debris off the floor(s); 3) with a cloth and a bucket of water containing a mild solution of your favorite cleaning product, wipe the floor clean of any dirt (mud, food, pet stuff, etc); 4) when the floor is dry, use a floor finish called Holloway House (I buy mine at Walmart). I use an old washcloth to spread it on the floor. There is no odor and the shine is fantastic. It seals all the pores and the floor stays cleaner longer. Once it has dried, carefully replace your furniture. A dust mop (swifter) should keep it clean for a long time. When it gets dirty, just use a solution of water and vinegar to mop (never saturate a laminate or hardwood floor). When the shine starts to wane, just make sure the floor is clean before adding another coat.. I use this product on my dining room floor and my stairway. It can be slippery so be careful.

In reply to the first answer, never ever mix any other cleaner with bleach! Do not use bleach on laminate flooring. Pledge makes a good cleaner for wood, make sure it says cleaner not polish. Mist on the floor and use a microfiber mop and wipe up going with the grain. It does not leave any residue and does not make the floor slippery.

Try swiffer wet or swiffer wet jet. regardless to what people say it is not harmful to pets, if you do have any four legged friends, and it cleans hard surfaces right up. You may just have to dust the floors a little more often, you may have a dirty air system. See about changing the furnace filter, that may help

SWIFFER DUSTER!! The one with the long handle that you push on the floor! They make dusters and wet wipes for it. I clean houses for a living and the dry dust cloth gets all the dust and pet hair up, and the wet cloth is good after that to get extra dirt. I bet your socks will stay clean after using this product! And all you do is attatch the cloths and toss in trash when finished. No work involved.

i have the same problem. the floor doesnt look dirty but our white socks look like they were woren outside. we dont wear shoes inside and everyone takes theirs off when they visit and still the floor is dirty. i keep swiffer wet cloths around and lightly mop with them at least once a day. i dont think there is anything else to do for the problem.

Swiffer daily and stop wearing shoes in your apartment. The floor stays much cleaner if you just go in your socks all the time.
