Geek Squad_ - 1GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive with u3. It states on pkg win xp or 2000. I have win 98se now with a driver can I run this? If so where can I locate a driver for it? I don't need to use the u3 just the drive itself.

The problem is the manufacturer may not have ever written a Win98se driver for it- which is why the system requirements on the box state XP or 2000. I think you may be out of luck with that particular USB flash drive, but check their website (or ask at Best Buy) just to be sure...

There are some which work with Win98se, but they are usually older, smaller-capacity flash drives.

If it doesn't automatically install the driver when you first insert the Flash Drive, then I usually just google search something this in your case:

"Geek Squad Flash Drive Driver"

That should bring up a whole list of sites where you can download the driver or you can try the manufacturers site and looks for a windows 98 driver there.

Typically with flash drives on 98, you need to go to the manufacturer's website and download the driver for 98. It should install automatically and you should be up and running. Find out who made the flashdrive.... there are always drivers on mfgs. sites for 98.

To use USB 2.0 devices with Windows 98SE, you need to have the USB update installed.
