The reason for homework is not only to teach you facts, it is also to teach you how to research facts. When I try to research something on the internet, I usually start with ask.com, google.com and wikipedia.com.

Try asking those questions at the above three sites.

This is my standard response to someone asking for homework help on the history answers page. To this I add now, if you want to define a word, go to Google.com and type in "define" and the word you would like defined. Or go to the Education & Reference answers category and choose "Homework Help."

Sweetheart, I think most of those words came to America on the Mayflower. Meaning they originated in England.

Get a dictionary, there are free ones online.

Miss, you need to get a dictionary. these are not uncommon terms, and they are not strictly American.
that quote yawns like the gates of Hell waiting for a wrong answer. without more information, there is no way to place it.

Chris is absolutely right, there's nothing to add... Besides, what's up with the people? Doesn't anyone in the world do their homework by THINKING?
