It was not the tax cuts that created the huge budget deficits, but all the additional spending, which were greater than the tax cuts.

And do not forget, the tax cuts have helped the economy grow, after the recession of 2000 and the economic impact of 9/11. Without the tax cut, the economy would have not recovered and grown like it has, and tax revenues would not be increasing as they are.

The tax cuts are intelligent economic policy.

The spending was against not only conservatism, but against the Constitution.

Reducing taxes did not cause the problem. The problem is how the tax money is spent. You could tax every person living in this country 100% on their income and if the government overspends you would still find you own 17,000 shares of debt. Both parties are responsible. Conservatives and liberals are responsible. We need to reduce the waste in spending. NOT increase taxes.

Another item needing reviewed is tax loopholes, which tax breaks are worth keeping because they return something positive to the economy as a whole and which tax breaks were given as political payback and, or put a drain on the economy. Again, both sides of the isle share responsibility.

Cut your taxes? You must make a ton of money because Bush actually raised taxes on the middle class. I prepare taxes for a living.

The GDP went up by over 1 trillion dollars in the same time. The country's economy is stronger and not weaker because of the deficit. But since the economy cannot continue to grow as it has been in the last three years there is a definite need to stop outspending earnings.

Cutting taxes is a visible PR event.

The debt is invisible.

That's why you can't give a tax cut without cutting government spending. Bush's tax cut has been a total ruse. All he did was defer tax collection for some other unlucky president.
Bush is such a putz.

That would be like one's spouse throwing you a $5 from the wallet and, in exchange, stealing and maxing out your personal credit card. Cause for divorce... OR impeachment??? :-)
