i know its wrong, but ill tell you what i did. first of all, there is NO way you can tell what the baby is w/o an ultrasound. sorry. but when i was preg. with my 2nd, i was so upset they could not tell. so... what i did was a few weeks later, i called the doctor and said i just fell down the stairs and in scared there may be something wrong with the baby. so... i had an ultrasound done. it was wrong of me, but i REALLY wanted to know. so did my husband. worth a try?

I am sorry that you are disappointed, but in the same way you can't tell if someone is a man or a woman from 20 feet away when they have on a big winter parka, ultrasound also has its limitations.

for one, you can usually be sure if they say it is a boy, due to the equipment being visible as it were, that it IS a boy.. but if you DON'T get a good view of that area due to how the baby is turned at the time of the ultrasound, then it is more that you don't KNOW than that it is definitely a girl! so, if you KNOW, it is a boy, if you DON'T know, it could be boy OR girl, slightly more likely it is a girl.

Really nothing you can do to tell if it is a boy or girl from shape of bump or anything lke that.. old wives tale.. not supported by science or statistics!

now, if you DO want to find out gender, that is NOT a problem! You should be getting multiple ultrasounds as the pregnancy progresses, and the odds of the baby being turned in such a way that they can NEVER tell ANY of those times is quite small!!

If you are really desperate they could do an amnio (about 1/200 risk of messing up the baby tho1), gene analysis etc... but just doing ultrasound over and over is the best way.

So, please be patient, the ultrasound is the safest way to go, and the only scientifically supported and sound way to determine gender without high risk.

Sounds like you'll be bringing a boys outfit and a girls outfit to the hospital. Bump shapes, heart rates, cravings...all add up to not a whole lot of real science.

Well, whats our babys heartrate usually they say if your babys heartrate is 140 and above it is a girl and below 140 a boy, this has been accurate in 2 of my pregnancies,my sister in laws and 2 of my friends...If u are carrying low its a boy, high its a girl (that one is reliable in my eyes.) Go with it from there and then just wait for your next u/s..good luck!

I don't know exactly what their called but their are at home tests that you can do and they will change color whether it's a boy or a girl. My cousin got one and it turned out right.
