I have always been talented in art and i am compleetly in love with sketching. I had thought about interior design but it limits the amount of schools I can go to by the hundreds...any suggestions as to what i can major in (or get a profession in) that are related to art/drwing?

There are so many art majors to choose from it isn't even funny. My best advice would be to go to a community college as a fine arts major. You'll get to dabble in graphic design, 2d design, drawing, painting, even some 3d if you want. They prep you to go to another school but you have an idea if you want to be an illustrator or a web designer or even just a fine artist. Along with the prep of figuring out what you want to do with your life they also help you hone your skills as an artist. It helped me a lot when I could not make up my mind about art.

I have a degree in Studio Art. Let me tell ya that it's difficult to get a job with just that. If you went on and got your M.A. you could teach at the college level. You could try art education to teach high school and below. You could check out architecture also. You could design logos and things for companies.

I understand why you want to draw. I had thought of doing graphic design because there are jobs in that, but I wanted to draw with my hands not with a mouse. There's just something different, more real, about doing it with your hands and a pencil.

Best of luck to ya!

unfortunatly BFAs are a dime a dozen in these parts...so prepare to follow your heart and starve...or take another look at interior design as a way of financing your studio "addiction" i do a lot of non art related kinds of work to support my habit.
