It may be that they came to you knowing that you would see them and bury them. I wish I could be specific and tell you what they meant to communicate to you, as it seems they were, but I do know that coming across animals in death represents rebirth and new life. Perhaps they are signaling a positive change ahead or reminding you to make changes and see the positive in your life, to 'move on', etc. Hope that means something to you on some level.

There is a book, I think it is called 'Animal Speaks' but I may be off on that. It provides the meanings of different animal totems. It may be helpful to find what the squirrel and buzzard represent and then apply those interpretations to the part of rebirth. That can often help to find more specifically what areas they are telling you to focus on. Hope I make sense. thank you.

Possibly the raccoon was poisioned and then the buzzard ate the raccoon or whatever the raccoon was eating, and died as well. As for eyes open or shut- they can go either way with any animal.
I have a weird story as well- I was walking to class and there was a crow cawing on the sidewalk in front of me. It stopped cawing and went up in a tree a couple feet down the sidewalk. I kept walking and it hopped from tree to tree always just in front of me. Since I didn't mind procrastinating going to class, when it flew across the streat on to a side road, I followed. It then hopped a couple more trees, right in front of me again, and then landed in someone's yard, right below their porch. Didn't pursue it any farther, but that was definately weird.
