This can be due to many reasons including cervical dysplasia, chlamydia, gonorrhea, vaginitis or cervicitis, cervical polyps, trichomoniasis, yeast infection, endometriosis or adenomyosis, uterine polyps, and fibroids. The only way to know for sure exactly what is going on is to see your doctor for an exam and testing.

When I had the same symptoms, I went to my ob/gyn and found out that I had fibroids (little noncancerous lumps) in my uterus. My problem was solved by noninvasive procedure - a scope going into the uterus (while you're asleep) to take the fibroids out. Not a big deal, up and at it same day as procedures!
