I had my baby 8 days ago and got a few stitches, my doctor never said how long it would take them to disolve. How long did it take for your stitches to disolve?

nowadays the stitches used for dissoluble ones. to be on a safe side, it takes about 5 weeks to dissolve just on time for your 6-week check up. By then your doctor / gynae would be able to tell u if u've suffered an infection / your stitches not healed properly or give you the thumbs up.

I don't know but I'd like to know too. I have a 3 week old daughter. These stitches do dissolve, they do not have to be cut out. Cograts on your baby.

Mine took five weeks to disolve. I don't know if that is normal, but that is how long it took and I didn't have any problems.

Stitches don't usually dissalve. they have to be cut. at the part where they are mended together, snip on one side so you can pull the other side out. Pull it lenght wise out, not through the skin.
