I don't want to argue with a doctor (and I'm not) but here are some ball park figures for the death question from a first aid book and another web-page.

"The adult body contains approximately 5 to 6 quarts of blood (10 to 12 pints). The body can normally lose 1 pint of blood (usual amount given by donors) without harmful effects. A loss of 2 pints may cause shock, a loss of 5 to 6 pints usually results in death."

"Typically, an adult human body contains about 10 to 12 pints of blood, and can expire from the loss of as little as 25% of it. Fifty percent loss, untreated, is invariably fatal—usually due to lack of circulating pressure rather than lack of oxygen-carrying red cells, which the body usually keeps more of than it actually needs at any given time."

Different for different people.

The answer is, enough blood so that the brain is no longer being perfused. That is a different amount for each person.

As we lose blood, we tighten up our vascular system to try and maintain blood pressure and perfuse our vital organs. We all have varying abilities to do this effectively.

Sorry to not give a more precise answer, but there just isn't one.

Sorry but this really depends on the person, their weight, and personal body resistance. Those movies you may have seen which time the death of a person by how long it will take them to lose sufficient blood is totally fabricated. Convenient for plot, but farcical nonetheless.

2-3 pints to pass out. Death happens when blood pressure falls so low the heart isn't circulating the blood anymore--ABOUT 4-5 pints for the AVERAGE person.
