I'm not sure exactly which came first, now that I think about it, but TGI Friday's had a great dessert that was called an Oreo Speedwagon that was made with Oreos and ice cream, with chocolate syrup on top.

When I worked there like 25 years ago, they claimed that REO Speedwagon took the band's name from the dessert. I am not sure if that was true or the other way around, but that's what we always told our customers!

The Speedwagon was a workhorse-type truck popular in the early days of automobile history. It was built by the REO Motor Car Co. of Lansing, Michigan.
