May I offer this simple advice
Fast cars will always be cool. Going fast will never go out of style. i.e. Modification that increases performance and good reputable brands will hold their value (to some extent).
Stylish cars and show cars get outdated as fast as my girlfriends wardrobe; every season. That is because the show circuit thrives on uniqueness and mods that are not relevant to performance driving.
Just some thoughts I have collected over the years while being a car enthusiast

Performance, then looks, and dont put those stupid stickers all over your car, I know so many people that do that to stock hondas, toyotas and even Neons.... plus I think decals look tacky anyways.

performance first looks and decals 2nd looks do you no good if you can't keep up and if you have an import vechical then you will be made fun of to no end if you just have looks but if you have the power to shut there mouths then at least you wont have to listen to it

proformance first definitly. personally i have cars that look good but have no go. isnt it better to have a stock car that will beat any car out there than a lowered car with a bodykit that you cant drive over 30 mph, cos if you do you will shatter the body. think about the shock they will have when they thought it was stock and you disappear ahead leaving them miles behind

performance because i your car looks fast people always want to race you and if you don't have the performance you are going to lose i like to race sometimes and i like to win and i love beating cars that are all dressed up and they think they will easily beat me then i smoke them

looks, with the low speed limits and zero tolerance on racing, there is no point in having a high horsepower vehicle
