Good answers, above - not Washburn, though, I tried many and they are decidedly mediocre, that company should die today. I don't know what "reasonable" means to you, but I'd say that for $300 - 400 yoou can get a very beautiful & easy-to-play Ibanwez EW (exotic woods) model - there are like 5 or 6, check their web site & then buy it through musiciansfriend.com if you're in the States. Takamine models are awesome but about twice that much. Also, go to Carvin.com, they have awesome acoustics (Cobalt) at about $600 - 700, real pro instruments.

If you live in the UK try cash converters. You can get secondhand and new very cheaply. I got my Dean for 170 quid (elec-acou). Good brands to look out for are Ibanez, Fender, Martin (but very expensive), Takamine, Washburn. I wouldn't advise buying on the net because you really need to play the guitar before buying to check there are no problems, that the size suits you etc.
