Slow load times are usually due to either your processor or your CD/DVD ROM drive speed. Or both. Your CD/DVD ROM drive can be replaced or supplemented easily for about 100 bucks or less. But it's more likely your processor. With only a 1.8 gigahertz processor, you're going to have a hard time doing any loading. Unfortunately, you can't replace that without replacing the whole motherboard.

If you're not willing to buy a whole new computer, I recommend you compensate for the slow processor by

1: Buying a new 20x speed CD ROM drive
2: Purchasing a GEForce video card at least 8800GTS or better.

But truthfully, I can't promise you this will help. You're best off buying an Intel Core 2 or AMD FX-60 processor with a new motherboard and hooking everything else up to it. It will be painstaking, but about the same price and it will give you MUCH improved results.
