In needlepoint do you have to separate the strands of wool yarn?

It is a janlynn needlepoint kit, there were no instructions in the package

Normally you use the wool which is 3 ply as a single strand. A suggestion to make your work lay neater separate the strands then thread them onto your needle as you would normally. This will give you a much nicer finished product. Good luck.

The same applies for 6 strand embroidery floss. Use a a single six strand unit but again separate for a finer finish.
