Hitler was a nationalist, a fascist!
he claimed socialist ideology, so the people would put him in power, and it is the best way to unify people who are impoverished, with large amounts of crime, resulting from the poverty.
He was a politician, and knew socialist ideals appealed to the majority of Germans.

obviously you read too much newsmax, because a fascist is not a Marxist, can be, but not necessarily.

Fascism is a political ideology and mass movement that seeks to place the nation, defined in exclusive biological, cultural, and/or historical terms, above all other sources of loyalty, and to create a mobilized national community.[1] Many different characteristics are attributed to fascism by different scholars, but the following elements are usually seen as its integral parts: nationalism, authoritarianism, militarism, corporatism, collectivism[2], anti-liberalism, and anti-communism.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fascism

Fascism, is a twisted form of nationalism, which is exactly what Nazi Germany became, once Hitler decided the Jewish people were evil.
The place was never really a socialism, it mocked it, but it never achieved it. Hitler never even had plans on achieving it. just doing so enough to ensure everyone was unified and supported his short-term goals that were to set the stage for his entire agenda.

But the reason why the world's worst dictators always tout socialism, is the exact bush changed his reasoning for the Iraq invasion several times....to get the majority of people to unify behind the cause!

by the way, nationalism is right-wing ideology!
so what do you think hitler was doing by trying to appeal to both right-wingers, and left???

Saddam certainly wasn't Socialist, which is why the Reagan administration, Robert Gates and Rumsfield kept him in power. Pinochet in Chile certainly wasn't Socialist-as a matter of fact, the US replaced a Socialist leader there with him. Who are you talking about?

The German Nazi party-On January 5, 1919, the party was founded as the German Workers' Party (German: Deutsche Arbeiterpartei) by Anton Drexler.[1][2] Hitler joined the party in September 1919,[2] [3] and became propaganda boss, renaming the party April 1, 1920,[4][5] and becoming party leader July 29, 1921.[5][2]

Nazism is not a precise, theoretically grounded ideology. It consists of a loose collection of ideas and positions: extreme nationalism, racism, eugenics, totalitarianism, homophobia, anti-Semitism, anti-communism, and limits to freedom of religion.

This was Socialist in name only! People saw the name (German Workers Party and didn't seem to notice the true Fascist nature of it.

Gee, feeling as though you shoulda have asked more basic questions, such as "Was Hitler a Marxist?", instead of jumping right in with a statement Charles Manson couldn't defend?

Next time try something people might get behind, like "Is It True Chelsea is Hillary Clinton's and Osama bin Laden's Love Child?"

Because free people do not allow their governments to get so far out of control that things like the Holocaust and the Communist purges can happen. I thank God that here in the USA we have the right to keep and bear arms so if we ever made the mistake of electing a socialist who started murdering us we can rise up and stop him. To those of you who say Hitler was not socialist, Nazi is short for National Socialist, and that's a left wing thing...

Cause they are able to consolidate power through socialist ideals. They combine all factors of society and put it under the power of the government. Since everything is controlled and regulated by the government, they have total control over society.

Napoleon was not a socialist. Oliver Cromwell was not a socialist. Pol Pot was not a socialist. George Bush is not a socialist. Shall I continue naming dictators and murderers that were not socialist? There was Jack the Ripper, not a socialist. Dahmer was not a socialist. Sun Yat-Sen was not a socialist. Really, I can go on forever. why don't you just remove the question you ignorant so and so.

Hitler was not a socialist, he hated them...I believe fascism is a "nationalism" party...they put the words "national socialist party" in there, but it is not socialism...the only socialism Hitler had in mind was that everyone would be in the war effort and be under his unified command...socialism does not have a dictator...

You really are ignoirant of history if you believe Hitler was a Marxist
