ive seen quite a few times on wildlife programs over the years, that when a lion kills a hyena, they just leave the body and don't eat it.
why is this?

cats kill for fun- even when they are not hungry. It's been proven in all major species of felines. Possibly the hyena was in his territory and he felt manly and had to kill it- they would not (normally) eat another lion they kill either. Plus carnivore meat really doesn't taste all that great. You literally are what you eat.

The hyenas body have a enzyme in it that make them difficult for the Lion to consume.

Hyenas have a poisonous liver. A small dose can kill even humans.

they are annoying so the lion kills them. especially when they are laughing in the lions face... lol just kidding... maye they eat something the lion doesn't eat or maybe they save it for when the cameras are off... maybe the meat is no good. cats are picky, and they will only eat what its good meat... sorry i can only give you maybes

Some carnivores have poisonous livers. Maybe hyenas do too. *shrug*

Maybe they're not hungry lol. Seriously I think it follows the same idea as to why some people buy soo much food but they don't eat it all...

Because someone should be there to clean the remaining food after the feast.

hyenas live in packs. if they kill one, they will have to face up to 30 more. also, since they are scavengers, their flesh is probably sour tasting and poisinous
