They haven't done anything yet. But they trumpeted their success thier "first 100 hours". But those bills are just typical political glad handling and will not realistically accomplish anything, typical feel good legislation.

Except of course for the increase in the minimum wage, which will have minimal effect on business and the people currently recieving minimum wage. There are approximately 460,000 receiving the minimum wage, most are not raising familiies. But the increae in the minimum wage will increae the number of people earning the lowest salary by about 11 million and that includes those providing for families. If the cost of living increases as it usually does in response to an increase in the minimum wage those currently earning between 5.15 and 7.25 will be taking a pay cut.

Spirit, while your idealism may make you sweet, it also shows how weak and vulnerable your position is, a homeless person would take advantage of you in a heartbeat, and I would spit on them in a heartbeat if it wasn't assault. Homelessness here is ridiculous thanks to idiots putting up shelters. The more shelters, the more homeless. You walk downtown and get bothered continuously by vagrants that are too lazy to work.

Kimberly, you're right, they have a plan to WEAKEN America.

Now to the question, I didn't vote democrat, but I regret they're in office, while I personally am happy with the wage in minimum wage, even though I am paid above minimum wage. I don't really think it will weaken businesses all that much. I do agree that I have not seen any plan from them, and really think they are going to screw many things up, such as immigration for one.

No, this American is not regretting it.

The Democrats have a plan. Clearly they do, as you contradict yourself immediately; they have a plan to raise the minimum wage.

Democrats also are working to:
* pass ethics reforms
* stop using emergency appropriations for a war that has wasted too much money and too many lives already
* prevent an escalation of war that won't work
* Many more items now that the Republican Congress is not rubber-stamping ill-advised, wasteful of money, bad for Americans ideas out of the White House.

In case you hadnt noticed you are still living in what can be loosely be described as a democracy. On the bright side we are far less like ly to start another "Quagmire" somewhere else if the liberals have their way.I hope the democrats have a plan for dubya. to give him an opportunity to explain his plans.

You must be one of the rich pricks, who doesn't have to worry about paying bills. While their are MILLIONS out there who do. You are also the kind of person who would spit on a homeless person, out in the freezing cold, blaming them for your problems.
No I don't regret someone trying to help others. I regret we have the whinners like you, who can't be a human being for 1/2 a second to see the problems that are really going on.
Sorry Bout ya.

Its a matter of desperation with the GOP doing such a crappy job, plus there's the media that won't let them vote third party.

Some of the people who voted them in are already angry that we aren't going to pull out of Iraq.
