Your doctor should have a way to get a hold of them over the weekend. Is there not a nurse available? Was the blood this morning pretty heavy? My baby had spotting and the doctor said it was probably from an anal fissure (tear)...nothing to worry about. But it wasn't heavy. Here's a website with some good information: http://www.kellymom.com/babyconcerns/bloodystool.html
I would try and find a new doctor who at least has a nurse available on weekends for emergency calls.

Is she breastfed or formula fed? Is the blood bright red or mixed with the mucus and darker in color?
It sounds like she has a milk protein allergy. This can come out in your breastmilk if you are nursing, and is found in the majority of infant formulas. You may have noticed other symptoms like a red rash around her rectum, then maybe her stool turned color slightly? They might have been subtle and you didn't notice until the blood showed up, which can be rather alarming.
If it is milk protein allergy, try going off all dairy in your diet for two weeks and see what happens. Or you can put her on soy formula if you aren't nursing. If you are, you don't necessarily have to stop nursing, although lots of peds will think you should. Either way, it can clear up anywhere from 3 days to two weeks, depending on the level of milk proteins in her diet. The mucus and blood sound like an irritation of the gastrointestinal tract.
One thing to note: if it is an intestinal blockage, she would be screaming in pain a lot and probably would not want her stomach touched. Does she seem otherwise happy or does she cry a lot?
HOpe she's okay. Let us know how things turned out.

Get off the computer and go now its not okay for her to have blood in her stools. even if it just is an anal tear better safe than sorry with a newborn always take them to get medical attention. There is no such thing as a stupid question.

Call the Dr's number, u will get an answering service..of course leave ur number n they will call u bk. u can call the hospital where u had her and ask to speak to a pediatric nurse, tell them why u r calling. U NEVER leave anything to chance with a newborn bcuz with them, things can go bad really fast!
