Have you searched all the previous answer already provided todate?
This depends on your own preferences. The general answer is:
1. Select stocks based on fundamentals first. This means PE, PB, PS, EPS Growth, PEG, ROE, ROA, Prf Margins etc etc.
2. Then from the list above, select stocks that are trending upward. In a crash you will find that most of them are down, so you will have to wait for a 5, 10, 20 DMA to show a turn up. If they are showing a turn up and you like the stock, then you place your order to buy.
3. The most imp question you did not ask, is when to sell. 80% of investors are great at telling you what to buy. 50% of these will tell you a good answer of when to buy. 20% or less will tell you when to sell after you have purchased, and the discplined mechanism to do so!!!!! Seriously.
Good luck.

hi, Demat account, finding out to purchase and merchandising account and mark downs economic enterprise account all are separate issues. Demat account is maintained with a DP. finding out to purchase and merchandising account is maintained with a broking provider, and mark downs economic enterprise account is maintained with a economic enterprise. you are able to save each and all of the three debts with 3 diverse entities. preserving them with the comparable entity is merely handy, yet no longer vital. bearing directly to your 2d question of finding out to purchase for shares of small quantity, it relies upon on your broking provider. some brokers do no longer enable them outright. some brokers enable it, however the shoppers could desire to pay larger fee of brokerage on them.
