I either need address's or a map of where the houses are located. I have a car and do not want to take a group tour. Has someone has found a website with this info? Thanks for your help! :)

Oak Park, Illinois is home to the world's largest collection of Frank Lloyd Wright designed buildings and houses, with 25 structures built between 1889 and 1913.

I used the Book: "A Guide to Oak Park's Frank Lloyd Wright and Prairie School Historic District" to plan my driving tour of the area. It runs about $22.00.

However, I would also recommend the "Frank Lloyd Wright Field Guide," which covers all of FLW's buildings. It runs about $40.

Both books will give us the locations and a description of each bilding. They can be found on amazon and from the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust. http://www.wrightcatalog.org/

Also, it should be noted that the Oak Park Tourist has a map of the Frank Lloyd Wright Historic District. http://www.oprf.com/flw/index.html

The Historic District also sells a street map of the area: "Frank Lloyd Wright Oak Park/River Forest Architectural Map" for about $3.95.

If you are not getting a book, this $3.95 street map is a must have to tour the Oak Park area. It is self guided and number all the homes in the area. the back lists the number house, its address, the name of the home, and the year that the home was built.

In any event, I would suggest that you contact the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio (which is run by the FLW Preservation Trust). They may also used to sell the map.

The Home and Studio also has Audio and Walking Tour Guides for the immediate area. They are very informative and fun. You can save some gas (and the environment) by walking to some of the buildings. http://www.wrightplus.org/tours/tours.php

A web listing of the buildings can be found at:

Enjoy your trip!

You need to go out to Oak Park. You can probably check on the net for for Taliesin, and there will probably be a link to all of the houses built by Frank Lloyd Wright.
Also, I know that on the Loop in downtown Chicago there is a Wright center that had maps for all the sites of his homes in the area. You can probably find that center and get a map to show you how to travel.
But, also just google FLW and you can probably find something that will lead you to a site that can send you something. I do believe I saw something like a list and maps to sites when I was at Falling Water.

A lot of them are in Roger's Park on the northeast side. I used to live there. Stop in Alderman Joe Moore's office for a map. He's located at Greenview and Jarvis next to the currency exchange.
I've moved out of state. Now I'm homesick.
