Hello There,
Marriage is a union between two people whom choose to make a life together with commitment. In this short life ,happiness doesn't come around in this capacity all the time. People from different cultures can bring different components to the table and make life interesting for one another. The only people whom seem to have a problem are those whom live within their own protective shell and afraid to venture toward the unknown. A spirit of love doesn't have a color nor boundaries. Respect and Communication is a key toward any relationship regardless of the genesis of the union.
One should never allow anyone to stand in their way in the area of love. This could be the best adventure one will ever endure.

It all depends on what is more important the wedding or the marriage/relationship. I lived in NZ for 10 years and you should be fine. Things are different there but then again you already know that. My personal experience with marriage to somebody from another country has not been good, but i know plenty that have worked. In my case I think the nationality difference did not help, but it certainly was not the cause of the break up. You just need to make sure you do not assume anything when it comes to traditions. Your traditions will be quite different from his. However because of NZ being NZ you can celebrate anything you like, there is always somebody there that has the same traditions. If you stay in NZ read up on the history (quite interesting) you'll see where a lot of them come from. If you want PM me about Americans in NZ

Why should it matter what anyone thinks about two people from different nations, anyway? We live in a very multicultural society. I think it's wonderful. If I was meant to be with someone of another nationality, I feel that would be a strong positive because of the diversity and experiences of both people that are brought into the marriage. Different traditions, different ways to celebrate, different ideas, different concepts

It's fine, but the partners certainly need to be mature enough to make adjustments ( a bit more than in a marriage of same nationalities) and to understand certain basic differences due to nationality backgrounds.

I have no problem with marriage between diff nationalities as long as each person has respect for the others culture and beliefs.

I'm Puerto Rican and I'm with a white guy. I love it. I think sometimes people don't understand us but we understand each other and at the end of the day, that's all that matters. If at the end of the day, you can lay your head down next to the person you love most in the world then it doesn't matter what color(s) you are or what anyone else thinks. Just thank God you're so lucky to have found that.

marriage is between 2 ppl.....race, religion, caste, nationalities shudnt matter...the thing that matters is compatibility....if you can work your marriage, I believe you are good, cuz so many ppl with the same race, religion, nationality can't make their marriages work for more than a couple months...

Marriage between any adults is their business, no matter who they are. As long as they are consenting and free to make the choice, then it's up to them.

We can't predict the future. Falling in love is magical and who we fall in love with is a mystery until it happens. SURPRISE!!!

My background is Italian, I married a man with a Greek background and my children are Korean. It's wonderful -- and all that great food.

Enjoy the surprises.

Good Luck!
