I understand that Katrina was a horrible tragedy, but I think all the sports media cheapens the actual hardships that the real people have gone through by talking about how much the saints players have gone through. These are Millionaire Athletes! Truth is, there are 27 NEW players that weren't even there last year. Even most of the guys that were there last year don't live in the city year round, they are rich enough to rent a place during the season or have 2nd homes there. The players are rich enough that they weren't the ones with destoyed lives and nowhere to live. They merely had to play 8 games in a year at a different stadium, and were making more money to play a sport than most people make in a lifetime. Hardship? It's been great for the fans and the city to have a winning team to uplift spirits, but please SHUT UP about how bad it's been for the players..

Well you know the media, they hype anything and this is no different.
Pro football is a business and if the owners get together and say we need to have the Patriots in the Superbowl or the Saints, they can make it happen and without the player knowing, So football is all hype and the player make a lot of money and so does the NFL and the media and the beer vendor, so just block that out and pretend its for real.

wow, sounds exactly like I was not too long ago, until I realized a few simple, obvious truths. 1) Realize and know that the majority of people out there will screw you on a second's notice if they had the opportunity and if it is worth the time it takes to screw you. That being said, you need to rise above these kinds of people and keep your eyes peeled. Always have the upper hand. How do you do that? Be aggressive, yet don't lower yourself to their level by screwing others over. 2) I recently read a book, and in that book it said there are people that will try to make their faults and shortcomings to be yours. Meaning, they will criticize you such as "I don't want to hurt your feelings, but..." Sure they want to hurt your feelings, thats the point of their conversation with you. Pay attention to what they are trying to say, because often times it is one of their shortcomings. Then you feel like you need to apologize or something. Don't fall into that trap. You are better! 3)Absolutely one of the most damaging things you can do to your emotional health is focus on the negative events that happened in the past. Trust me trust me, I did for a while. For example, I would focus on how I was a hermit in high school. You know, once I got over that, and didn't care anymore, my social life skyrocketed, and I am now in a better position then many many of my former classmates who were partying at 16. Let go, it is not worth it. Who gives a monkey's @$$ what happened 2 years ago with that guy you really liked and things didn't work out. Let it go, it will haunt you as long as you don't! 4)The most important thing I have ever learned is.......never, never let another person's remarks, opinions, or ideas cause hardship or pain to you! Period. End of story. Somebody thinks your shoes are ugly, well ask them "is it bothering you". If they say yes, then tell them they can shove it up their @$$. Whats that, they are telling you how you should act? Tell them to go lecture somebody else. You don't have to put up with that crap. There are plenty of people out there with integrity, and if they are a real friend, they won't try to control your character, and if they have a comment about your shoes, it will most likely be that they are nice. One more thing, if something is bothering you (personal appearance etc..), do something about it at all costs if you can. More damaging to you than whats actually bothering you will be the fact that you didn't try to fix it.

They (the media ) need a story, pretty soon if God forbid the pathetic colts go to the stupidbowl ( if the Saints and Colts play eachother) it will be all about how his overrated quarteback stiff father played for the Saints and its afamily feud or some ****, and if he wins He'll prove what a fraud he is by saying this is for New Orleans or he's from Louisiana and he sympathises. As far as the Saints, it will be back to shoring up the levee and no championship, they are selfish, idiotic, delusional players on a subpar team No go! God I hate Joe Horn

Is that what they've been saying? I wouldn't know, I've been in England without a TV for 6 months.

Anyway, it's a great story for the people of New Orleans to have their most famous sports team competing this far into the season and I'm sure a lot of neutral fans will be rooting for them to win it all.

What each player and coach ought to do is give one game's salary to help people get back on their feet.

No one in NOLA or the team is even mentioning it numb nuts! Get your story straight and stop drinking the haterade! I get the sneaking suspicion you're a Bears fan...

If you want to harp on something, tell your favorite media outlet to cut it out with the 'feel good' story. If not, the whine about something else. The Saints are going to the Super Bowl!!!!!

GEAUX SAINTS!!!

I have to agree with you. the Saints are good and I'm happy they're competing. BUT Katrina is not a reason to be rooting for this team! I'll be rooting for "da Bears" I know they are not very consistent, but they get the job done when it has to.
Enough about Katrina and the Saints. sheesh!

people have not been saying the players have had it bad. They have been sayin that it was so hard for the FANS and the people of New Oreleans and how much a super bowl victory would mean to them and how big of a story it would be.
