Run the vacuum cleaner, get the house clean and you won't hear the baby. As long as nothing is wrong with the baby this works great, my son would stop crying as soon as I started cleaning. I had a friend that would put the child in her car seat and set her on the dryer (Next to the kitchen) do a load of clothes and clean the kitchen. Her daughter had colic and her kitchen sure was clean. I think most parents run into this once in a while.

Some baby's do cry when there is nothing wrong. You can be a good mom or dad and still have a fussy baby. Reading the other answers you would think that know one ever heard a baby cry. don't worry you are not alone P.S.It is not good to hold them 24-7 just so they wont cry. If you do that when the child turns 3-4 you will be calling Nanny 911 because the kid calls the shots.

Okay you need to elaborate. Is your child Colicky? If yes than I would say vacuum to the radio or maybe go for a short walk. If not than I would ask do you just need a short break if so, change the baby, feed the baby, hold the baby and if they are still crying and not colicky take them to a doctor They cry for a reason. If none of the above and you are just annoyed you need to reevaluate being a parent and see about giving your baby a better home with another family who does not see a child as a burden and something to be ignored, but as the gift they truly are.

Find out what is wrong with it that is making it cry. If it seems that there is nothing wrong with it and you have tried everything you know, take it to the doctor to make sure there isn't a medical problem (ear infection, etc.) Sometimes there is a problem that we as parents don't automatically detect. If the baby checks out and everything is okay, then maybe you just need a break. Babies tend to overwhelm us at times (even the most attentive parents!) Call your mother or someone that you can trust to watch your child for a couple of hours. Taking time for ourselves is something that we must not take lightly!

Is someone else with the baby? I hope so1 A baby crying is needing something- that is how they communicate - so help them! If someone else is helping and you just want to tune them out - go to a different part of the house with doors shut in between or go for a walk or a drive.

Why is the baby crying? Hungry? Need a diaper change? Cold? Hot? Need to burp? If you could figure that out the baby will probably stop crying.

what you have to realize is that all mom baby pairs are different and unique pairs of people and one size fits all doesnt work on everyone. Sometimes the baby just needs to be held basically all the time. Can you think of another animal on the planet that tosses their babies into the next room?? Almost all mammals keep their young next to them for up to years at a time.
