Luxembourgians enjoy the highest per capita gross domestic product (GDP) in the world. Luxembourg enjoys a degree of economic prosperity almost unique among industrialized democracies.
The country is a tax haven, it enjoys political stability, good communications, and gives easy access to other European centers. These benefits and a tradition of banking secrecy have contributed to a buoyant financial sector and offer a favorable climate to foreign investment. Germany accounts for the largest-single grouping of banks, with Scandinavian, Japanese, and major U.S. banks also heavily represented. The current value of U.S. direct investment is almost $1.5 billion, on a per capita basis--the highest level of U.S. direct investment outside of North America.
Labor relations have been peaceful since the 1930s. Foreign investors often cite Luxembourg's labor relations as a primary reason for locating there. Unemployment in 1999 averaged less than 2.8% of the work force.
The labor force of about: 236,400 is about one-third foreign workers, mostly from Portugal, Italy, France, Belgium, and Germany (1998 est.)

And it's the most boring place in Europe.

For the rich people living in Luxembourg is wonderful, as a tourist you can see very nice places, but the life is expensive.

Luxembourg is a delightful place to visit, and side trips are a wonderful adventure. Check into a pension or B&B, not a hotel, as they are quite expensive. Websites can lead you into some wonderful places, as can books such as Rick Steve's guides on that area. Life is as anywhere else; what you make it to be. But going to Luxembourgh gives you the European adventure, with some great sights to see, and hospitable people.
