Well, to me it sounds like she's looking to find a meaning to her life and then finds it in the end. That's what I got from the song. There can be different interpretations of it.

I don't know specific songs really. But it's probably a Mariah Carey song. Some of her old songs were really personal and I could totally relate to the emotion, even as a male. :)
