The Jews got it. The Japanese people got. it. Should America (a former Slave holding nation) be force to keep it's promise to the Blacks that can show they were financially held back from keeping up with white who have been able to pass their wealth from one generation to the next. Money is as good as apology to the US. Would it be just plan right to give slavery effected blacks what America promised them. I would give them the equivalent of 40 acres and a Mule times 400 years, or maybe $10,000,000.00 per effected family. Or you can say they should not get one red cent for all their tears. Was America fair to its black Slaves and their ancestry?

If whites paid all they owe, it would decimate the US (and European) economies. I'm not sure what the solution is, but just throwing money our way (unless it is enough to seriously change lives) is not it.

Neither my parents or grand parents had slaves, and came over here after slavery was abolished. Why don't black people get over this and get on with their lives. What do they want, A free boat ride There are no slaves ,from this country alive today. Why shouldn white people pay anything for something they had nothing to do with ?

Because if you really think about it, Slavery has helped balcks in the longer run.
Your ancestors went through a little bit of bad times, but the standard of living blacks have in the US is far above what they would have had if they were stuck back in Africa. They should be thanking us, not asking for money!

Slavery is over, get over it. You don't need any "reparations". It didn't happen to you, it happened to your ancestors hundreds of years ago.
