No one in our family has this genetic flaw. We are at a loss how to deal with this. How can we get her to think properly?

Don't look at me..I have three daughters..Two have blonde hair and the oldest has dark brown hair..Who is the ditz...Yup, the oldest. I keep telling her I am going to dye her hair and get it over with. Its like she is truely a blonde valley girl.

She is 13 so we switched her from chidlren's vitamins to adult vitamins and make sure she gets 10 hours of sleep. Anything less and she is a complete ditz for the day.

I feel you.

If this was a serious question I would think you have issues. But since I know you can't be for real I have a BLONDE daughter and she is not DINGY. She has more common sense than some of the DARK HEADED adults in her life.

someone probably did. you've just not heard of it cos they've kept it a well guarded secret see.

no but seriously someone in the entire family tree...has had the gene maybe someone totally unheard of. not someone close even. so dont worry about it

you could die her hair now and she'll never have to know shes blond...hence she'll never expect herself to act that way. heard of the "self fulfilling prophecy"?

Many children are born blonde (even super light blonde) and naturally have brown hair by the time they reach their teens or 20s. 8 people in my family have exhibited this characteristic - take heart.

Peace!

well seeing as how i am a natural blonde i hate to tell you but she will always strugle with this problem the only thing a loving(smart) parent can do is die her hair it will bring some brains to her at least for a little while lol

You've got to be kidding - how could you say something like that about your own daughter???

Since you claim NO one else in your family is blonde, then more than likely she will darken as she gets older and realize what kind of mother she has.

Egads...perhaps she'll grow out of it. I also had a couple of blondies, but they are now 11 and 13 and it really has darkened up. AND they are a couple of little geniuses, really.

Don't despair.

You appear to be a reasonable, compassionate woman. I'm sure you will love her in spite of this.

Color of hair has nothing to do with thinking. Its just all the jokes that are told, make people believe that everything that comes out of a blondes mouth is dumb. NOT
