am going to France and just wondered if anyone has a simple
formula converting Euros to pounds without refering to tables.
so far I usually take a third off Euros.. any better ideas ??

Half the sterling and add it on to get a euro value.

£50 = €75 or so

to get a rough estimate either take a third off the euro or divide by 3 and double it. I used to live in germany and always went by that rough method. if something cost me 21 euros I would say its roughly 14 pounds. I dont know the exchange rate though now so I could be way off now. Ive just read you already do that oops sorry no better ideas

Go to the bureau de change. They convert euros into most currency

think its 1 euro = 68p

so yep 1/3 rd off is about right

make an excel spreadsheet
one euro varies at roughly 70p
if you make the spreadsheet then the values will instantly change every time you change the exchange rate
