I think to many Americans and to a lesser extent the Brits believed what they were told about WMD ( this was the excuse and not the true reason for the war). Infact I believe that there is still a reasonable number of Americans who still believe that Saddam was linked to both Al-Quaeda and 9/11, when they have been told by their own security services this was not the case even though Bush still peddled this lie for quite a while afterwards. I am sorry to criticise some Americans for this, but I genuinely believe having a more sceptical eye on Government is a healthy thing rather than just believing what you are told.
Invading Iraq was the wrong thing to do.
I know Saddam was evil, but he still had support of a large minority in that Country and they were not going to sit back and see their country invaded.
It is illegal under international law to invade another in order to remove it's Government, no matter how evil that Government may be.
If the USA or Britain was invaded I would like to think they would fight back. Well this is exactly what some Iraqis (and other people from other countries ) are doing and we shouldn't of been surprised. Both Bush and Blair were naive in the extreme and in both our countries it is our poor soldiers who are paying for it with their lives (some with permanent disfigurement). We the tax payers are paying for it out of our pockets (mainly the Americans).
I know some people won't like what I am saying, but the invasion of Iraq has made the world a more dangerous place. Unfortunately there are far too many people that live in complete denial and don't want to believe they were wrong.

dead wrong, he ordered the inspectors out and if they were not out they would be caught in the invasion. Did they really have a choice to stay or get out. Bush and Cheney neither one of them know anything about the military and what it can do. Forcing democracy is not how to go about it. They have no plan except to take over the oil there and they are rolling in the money from day one, which began in the late 90's when this was put together by the war mongers that have been in office since the 2000 election. It is called I think the New World Order, look it up to see if you recongize any familuar names on it and look at the date of it, you will be surprised. Remember it is a SLAM DUNK!!

Bush didnt cause chaos.
Iranian and syrian funding and supply of terrorists are the cause of chaos.
Failing to support the occupying forces by the western liberal left wing is a major contributory factor to the deaths of allied soldiers and iraqi civilians. The opposition from the left ,lends comfort and support to the enemy ,thereby strengthening his resolve.
Of course the invasion was correct.
The installation of democracy in the middle east will ultimately stabilise the region and reduce the propensity for war.
If the west didnt act now ,then very soon ,a strong chinese political or military force would consume the region .He who controls the oil controls the global economy,he who controls the global economy rules the world.
The liberals need to take their heads out of the sand (excuse the pun).

WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!! Nothing has been gained other than the removal of Saddam Hussein who was about as much of a terrorist threat as Betty Crocker. Of course, now there are terrorists running around all over the place - most of them from other countries - Iran and Syria. But, as a decorated war hero during Viet Nam - just look at his outstanding war record - Bush knew what had to be done. And look at the cost!! Over 3000 Americans dead and countless innocent Iraqis. But, we have to look at the positive side - haven't you noticed how the Iraqi people have embraced democracy? Its now the vacationland of the Middle East - no violence, its safe to walk the streets of the cities and so on. And on an even more positive note - look at how its helped the American economy - Halliburton has made millions of dollars. Meanwhile, the real terrorists responsible for 9/11 - Osama bin Laden and his gang of thugs are roaming free with their buddies the Taliban in Afghanistan, laughing at Bush's stupidity.

he was wrong simply for the fact that by invading and removing Iraq as a military force has left Iran to become a nuclear threat.
a dumb move as to go to war with Iran would be catastrophic financially, and cause even more unrest in an already unstable middle east

Chaos? Who do you think is causing the chaos? It's the terrorists destroying electric sub-stations every time they're fixed, cutting water supply off after being fixed, driving car/truck bombs into cities, murdering citizens, killing members of the new govt., kidnapping, killing our soldiers, attacking schools and killing kids, and everything else bad that happens in Iraq. The terrorists are also trying to take over Lebanon and several other countries around the world. Yeah, Bush was right.

Depends which point of view you look at it from.
From his point of view, or Cheney's, or Halliburton etc... he was right.. because they have amassed a FORTUNE as a result of this war (which was the real reason for it)
For everyone else... the public, the brave troops, the innocent civilians who have been killed, and basically anyone who is sane... it was very, very wrong.

Intelligence leading up to the war did not perceive the problems we currently now face. Military and Civilian intelligence thought things would go much smoother. Sadly, as many things in life do, it did not transpire according to plan. However, we broke it, so we need to see that it's fixed. These things are not as simple as people like to believe. Read your history. Know the facts. You might be surprised what the democrats have and are trying to do to this country, in the name of their self serving natures they try so hard to deny.

When you put this all on Bush, you discredit your entire question, which is a good one.
The President had the majority of Congress in approval of going into Iraq, as required by law.
Were we right in going into Iraq? Who knows. At this point, it hardly seems relevant.
