8. I lost one life on someone I thought loved me but didn't really. The other 8 go to the girl I'm with now as she is the one. I had to crash and burn hard to find her. But it's worth it in the end. She went through the same thing so between the two of us, we have 16 lives to life together.

It doesn't work that way.
Love has many names, many forms.
Some of them take a life, to follow your image, but you have others which give it back.
And yet others which make you whole again...
It is often what we expect of love which burns us.
So, till now, with taken, given back, and whole, they are still all there and going strong.
And I am 55.
And am presently divorced.
